Most scams start with a frightening call or message: your account is about to be frozen, your name is linked to a case, or your parcel is being held. The aim is to make you panic and act without thinking.
Banks, the police and government agencies will never ask for your TAC or OTP, and will never ask you to move money to a "safe account". If someone does, hang up and call the agency yourself on its official number.
If money has already left your account, call the National Scam Response Centre (NSRC) on 997 immediately. The sooner you call, the better the chance the money can be stopped.
